The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

Young David Harper loved the farm and dreamed of the day when he would grow up to be the best farmer in Nebraska, and would make Harper farm the finest in that part of the country. No amount of hardships could dampen his ardent enthusiasm, but his father, feeling that the struggle against storm and flood and draught was too bitter, moved his family to the city. David, however, would not give up and it is his determined efforts to make the farm succeed that bring the family fortune and make David's own glowing dreams come true.

A buried fortune which the struggling Harpers do not dream exists, a rich aunt who will aid them only if she is given one of the children for her own add vivid drama to this stirring picture of life on a Middle Western farm.
