Trubloff: The Mouse Who Wanted to Play the Balalaika, written and illustrated by John Burningham, tells the story of a young mouse who is entranced by musicians' playing and dreams of playing his own instrument. How he reaches his goal—and how that helps his family—is a fun little tale.
And in Petunia, I Love You, on the flip side, Duvoisin tells the story of Raccoon, who does indeed love Petunia, the goose, but only insofar as she will make him a good, juicy meal. With wits and luck Petunia manages to elude Raccoon and save his life as well.
