The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If you need to see photos of the actual book or have questions about the condition, please call or email.
In My Mother is the Most Beautiful Woman in the World, Becky Reyher tells a tale of a little lost Russian girl who, when strangers try to help her, describes her mother with more love than accuracy. This book, illustrated by Ruth Chrisman Gannett (of My Father's Dragon fame), was awarded a 1946 Caldecott Honor.
On the flip side, Alvin Tresselt describes a small boy who explores the beach and finds many things to see and play with until the tide comes in. I Saw the Sea Come In is illustrated by the prolific and beloved Roger Duvoisin.
