The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

From the dust jacket:

Jean Monroe of 10007 Maryellen Lane lived in a house that looked like every other house in Dogwood Estates. Well, not quite. The Monroe front lawn lacked the usual suburban flower garden; it was used for grazing by Hopscotch, Jean's newly arrived, won-in-a-contest, chocolate palomino pony.

Jean found herself in a downhill battle to ward off the S.P.C.A. (called by nosy neighbors) and to dispose of continual "piles of poop." Mrs. Monroe understood her daughter's dilemma, but even she couldn't turn around an obviously hopeless contest.

How Jean managed to corral all the options in her attempt to keep Hopscotch is a rollicking read. Barbara Holland has infused the escapades with an endearing horse and an out-of-the-ordinary girl.
