This set includes the first edition of both the teacher and student book. The student book is still the current edition, but a second edition of the teacher book has been released that also matches the first edition student book.
Michael has long argued that grammar is simple and beautiful, and he proves it in The Grammar of Literature, which focuses on the grammar used by authors of the great classics of English and American literature.
This book is different from the other MCT grammar books. It is not a comprehensive survey of all standard grammar terms; instead, it is a summary of major concepts, devoting most of its time to the examination of beautiful sentences written by the authors of great novels in British and American literature. As such, it assumes a certain amount of previous acquaintance with the elements of grammar. Review with students as necessary.
This book will impart an appreciation by both students and instructors for the meticulous work of great writers to structure sentences in ways that make them extraordinary.
