A Bad Beginning

I know a lot of people like these books, but personally I prefer having hope in life. Since God doesn't seem to be in the world of Lemony Snicket, hope is in short supply.
The story is about three siblings who meet with one disaster after another. Through it all they have pretty cheerful attitudes, but that only half helps because I got plenty depressed for them.
