Cross-Country Cat

Cross-Country Cat

by Mary Calhoun, Erick Ingraham (Illustrator)

Trade Paperback, 40 pages

Henry likes walking on his hind legs, but when the Kid tries to make him put on skis, Henry refuses. He prefers prancing around the house to floundering in the snow. But when the Kid and his family decide to move and accidentally leave Henry behind, it looks like his only option is to trek across the snow on some skis. It takes a while, but Henry finds a rhythm (yow me-yowl!) and zips easily across the snow. He’s not the fastest on the snow (he gets licked by a snow hare), but he’s fast enough to escape a coyote and stubborn enough to make through a snow storm. All his hard works pays off when he sees car headlights in the road and spies the Kid’s head sticking out of the car window!
