Starting with the 1910 publication of Old Mother West Wind, Burgess wrote thousands of stories in the course of his 50-year career. Dover Publications has published 33 of his books in its Children's Thrift Classics, but for some reason only feature 26 of those titles in their collection. These are the seven leftovers, drawing young readers again into The Green Forest, and letting them experience more of the adventures of the animal folk who live there.
