  The Once-ler and the Lorax
Anna (age 7) of Oregon, 6/9/2016
One day, you might come over to the Once-ler's Place (it is not real, but you would like to do it if it was real). Pretend, you were actually doing this! So, you came over to the Once-ler's Place and you have to put in a Great-Great-Grear-Grandfather Snail's shell and some money and a nail. The Once-ler would put it all in his glove with a hole in it and let down a whisper-ma-phone. He will tell you the WHOLE STORY with his smuggled voice. You have to listen VERY, VERY carefully and it starts like this....

The Once-ler once drove his car through the woods of the Truffula Trees. He got his ax out and cut down JUST one pink tree. He drove his horse somewhere flat and all at once he had made a house! He started to make a Thneed. And all of the sudden, from the tree he cut down, someone came out! Hard to describe, but he was sort of mossy colored. He was the Lorax. And he said, "No one is going to buy that thing you made!"

The Onceler said, "Oh, yes they will. It can be a sock, it could a shirt, it could be anything!"

"The Lorax sneered again, "No one on earth will buy that awful thing!" But just then, a person came by and bought it!

So if you want to know more about the story, you either have to pay the Once-ler or read the book! But, I would rather read the book, if I were you, because I don't know how you can tell if a snail is a Great-Great--Great Grandfather Snail!
