SIGHTERS ARE NOT AFRAID.

The enchantment of the city has been undone, and now it is called the Bright City. The people have returned to their daylives, working in the sun and sleeping in the night. The Restoration is working to make the kingdom a fitting place for the King to rule. Little Child, who lived through the Resistance in Great Park, has been called to come and help his brother Hero. For Little Child has the gift of truth, and truth is a powerful weapon to use against the darkness that still tries to breach the Bright City.

Tales of the Restoration is the story of Little Child and how he assists in the Restoration of Bright City, becomes a storyteller, a Hunter of all the Lost Children, and helps Hero fight power-outs, mudslingers, and selfishness as they work to the King, the Kingdom, and the Restoration.

This classic story is allegory in the traditional sense, a story that personifies themes, ideas, and people. It's not a completely one-to-one allegory (nor should it be taken as one), but it is very close in a way that's both intriguing and helpful. The easy writing style makes it excellent for reading aloud. Each chapter has one full color, full page illustration by Diana Magnuson, in a style similar to the first two books of the series.

Review by Lauren Shearer
Lauren Shearer writes words for fun and profit. She also makes films, but everyone knows you can't make a profit doing that. Her other hobby is consistently volunteering way too much of her time. You can read more of her reviews here.
