The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

This is a story of the vast African plains and of Toki, a small African boy, who is lost from a safari and who actually encounters the great lion Simba. It was Toki's idea to stow away and tag along with the safari; but the morning he stopped to rescue a baby zebra, the safari moved on without him. Toki learns many things during his adventures with the hunters and with Derek Dun, the game warden. Yet nothing captures his imagination so completely as the stories he hears of the great Simba. And Toki comes to realize that all hunters are not heroes and it often takes more courage to conserve wild life than to kill. An unusual and authentic story full of action pictures which were actually sketched on the scene by Wesley Dennis.
