Music Resources

Teaching a student to be proficient musically is sometimes no easy task, but we believe everyone should develop a love for music and work diligently to learn how to glorify God with our voices and with other instruments.

While we don't offer musical instruction books, we do have a small selection of books that give insights into the lives and music of great composers. It is revealing to see how religion has inspired such men, even those who were not Christians!

For those of you in our local area, we are pleased to recommend these sources for instruments, lessons, and more books (including sheet music).

  • Classic Pianos (503.239.9969)
There are several piano stores in Portland, but this is the one we respect the most.
  • Manselle's Music Shop (503.659.9817)
Run by a homeschool family! String instruments, lessons.
  • Wally's Music (503.656.5323)
Bluesy store with brass, woodwinds and assorted other stuff.
  • Harmony Road Music (503.557.5151)
Three locations in the Portland area offering group music lessons and the best selection of music instruction materials we've seen.
