The last thing the Primms expect to find in the bathtub of their new house is a crocodile. But even less unexpected is this particular crocodile’s charming and obliging demeanor. Lyle (for that is his name), who has been temporarily abandoned by his previous owner, is eager to fit in with his new family. He performs tricks. He sets the table. He makes the beds. Far from being a menace, Lyle wins the hearts of not only the Primms, but the whole neighborhood with his genial nature. But at the peak of Lyle’s popularity, they receive a letter from Lyle’s previous owner, stating that he’s ready to take Lyle back. Everyone is heartbroken, but Lyle has to go. Is there any way Lyle can return to the Primms?
