Every reader who has ever had a distracting thought, and that includes just about everyone, will sympathize with this tale of friend cat and his heroic grappling with his particular obsession. That nagging thought that something on the mind will not go away no matter what. Always, always that intruding thought which interrupts work and interferes with play. For some of us, it is French desserts. For boys, it is girls, and for girls, it is boys. And for some it is mice!
Bernard Waber shows clearly with words but mostly with his wonderfully expressive pictures how a small thought can grow to be all- encompassing. And in typical Waber fashion, the solution to the problemm is very cat—but maybe just a bit human too.
