Home Has a Heart

Home Has a Heart

We may all be very glad that Thyra Ferré Bjorn's Mama proposed to her Papa because their marriage has given rise to a series of best-selling books beginning with Papa's Wife twelve years ago. In the same tradition, The Home Has a Heart is a most delightful and unusual book filled with stories of Swedish family life, anecdotes, helpful hints, and gold nuggets of advice for the new bride and the experienced homemaker.

The Home Has a Heart is written in the style of an almanac, a chapter for each month of the year. Mrs. Bjorn takes us back through the years to her childhood in the parsonage in Swedish Lapland and then to her life as a mother and housewife in Massachusetts. Each chapter has its stories, prayers, its special recipes for family holidays, birthdays, showers, weddings and its golden nuggets of wonderful advice.

For all those who delighted in the tales of the parsonage family whose story is told in Mrs. Bjorn's earlier books, The Home Has a Heart is a wonderful continuation, a book filled with love, spiritual wisdom, fun and laughter—and with the special bonus of Mrs. Bjorn's own superb recipes that are guaranteed to make your dinners memorable—whatever the season.
