The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

The Good American Witch can do anything. Her name is Mrs. Manage, a very pleasant person indeed, but hard to find. Which direction should you start? Just ask her for one wish, like Rufus wished his French poodle could talk, (he did, too French) and Susan wanted her black hair changed to gold and she got her wish, too. When Jenny and George tried to find the Good American Witch, even though they knew the signs and were searching for their heart's desire, they had a long hunt. Mrs. Manage, when they found her, changed their lives and although it seemed a long, long time, the wait was worth it. Amusing story.

PEGGY BACON, the daughter of artist parents, was born in Ridgefield, Connecticut. She studied at the Art Students League with John Sloan, George Bellows and Kenneth Hayes Miller. Miss Bacon has contributed caricatures, drawings, stories and verse to many leading magazines, including The New Yorker. She was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and has received an award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and is a member of the National Institute of Arts and Letters. Paintings by Peggy Bacon hang in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and many other museums throughout the United States.
