The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. Danny Dunn and his wonderful friends, Professor Bullfinch, Dr. Grimes, and Joe Pearson, are back again—this time testing their ability to make a desert island comfortable and secure. The chance to be a twentieth-century Robinson Crusoe is exciting enough, but when the plane in which the four are traveling is forced down and the quartet is without even a radio the game becomes very serious. To keep themselves alive and to contact a rescuer they have a single blanket, two cartons of K-rations, a rubber raft's emergency chest containing fish-hooks, signal flares, a large first-aid kit, a flashlight, a compass, 50 feet of light strong cord, two empty canteens, a coil of nylon rope, a large knife with a cork handle, and an emergency radio transmitter.

A story of ten intense, exciting days in which Joe is captured by the natives, Dr. Grimes is caught in his own man-trap and Danny proves he is more scientific in his approach than he seems.

Lots of very amusing pictures by Ezra Jack Keats.
