Falsely accused of the murder of a relation in Devonshire. Ronald Mervyn emigrates to South Africa and participates in a Kaffir war. He rescues a family from death in Africa, who subsequently return to England and work to establish his innocence. All ends well, as another relative confesses to the crime.
