Dr. Clarence B. Carson, author and lecturer, was born and reared in Alabama and held a B.S. degree in education and an M.A. in history from Auburn University. He served in the U.S. Army, earned a Ph. D. from Vanderbilt, and taught history and related courses both in high school and college. He devoted a number of years to independent research, writing, and lecturing. In addition to fifteen books, he was the author of more than 500 articles, reviews, pamphlets and booklets. He died on April 9, 2003 at the age of 77.
