Whether you measure greatness by influence, age, endurance or beauty, the Bible is great. It's great for a lot of other reasons, too, including the fact that it's just plain fun to read. But for Christians, the Bible's real greatness lies in this—that it is God's written Word in which He reveals Himself through the story of redemption and the work of Jesus Christ. That it is great for all those other reasons just makes it that much more appealing.
Some people look at our Bible selection and wonder why we don't have more options. Our main reason is that we aren't out to capitalize on the Word of God. As a result, we sell our in-stock Bibles for as close to our cost as we can manage. Aside from altruism, there are THOUSANDS of Bible variations in print; it's honestly easier (and far less risky) to carry the versions we really like, then place special orders (discounted when we can) for any version or study edition you're looking for. We are more than happy to do this (usually at close to 20% off the retail price).
While we offer a small selection in King James (KJV), New King James (NKJV), New American Standard (NASB), Christian Standard (CSB) and others, our favorite translation is the English Standard Version (ESV), both for its readability and accuracy. One of the most accessible for modern readers, its translators nonetheless maintained a humble dedication to the original sense of the source texts. We offer a variety of ESV editions, but once again, we're more than happy to special order a different version for you.
