The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. We often use stock images of books from the web, so if you need to see photos of the actual copy, please request that via email.
We had no idea The Little Engine that Could had so much history! It turns out that The Pony Engine is an adaptation of the early version by Francis M. Ford. This particular edition was published in 1957, after the famous 1930 edition (with Lois Lenski illustrations), and even after the 1954 edition that has become known as "the original" (with George and Doris Hauman illustrations), and has pictures by Gregorio Prestopino.
On the flip side is a collection of bedtime stories by Thornton Burgess, author of the West Wind and Peter Cottontail tales.
