Mary Pride

Mary Pride

In New York City in 1955 Mary Pride was born. After graduating early from high school, she enrolled in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and earned a degree in electrical engineering. One year later, she completed her master's degree in computer systems engineering. An active feminist, Pride changed the course of her life after marrying her husband and converting to Evangelical Christianity. Not only a mother to nine homeschooled children, Pride pioneered authoring and researching informational books for other homeschool parents such as The Big Book of Home Learning. She also penned books on women's roles and contraception, parental rights, and computer technology, advocating safe usage of the internet and educational software to help children learn. Pride also edits the Practical Homeschooling Magazine and oversees the website Homeschool World.
