See our honest review of Light and the Glory.

The authors, who meticulously researched this period for The Light and the Glory, have retold it in a simpler style that younger children will understand. With lots of imagined dialogue, this book is a fun, easy-to-read introduction or overview of America's history from Columbus to Washington. Though by no means an exhaustive study of the period, it can be used to tell children the stories of the men and events that built our nation. Includes a glossary as well as 3-5 study questions in the back for each chapter.
