Homeschoolers often seem insane because they are. Especially moms—if you think it's easy juggling housekeeping, discipline, education, cooking, etc. etc. etc., then you're insane. But seriously, homeschooling is no joke, despite the fact that many of us in its grasp can frequently be seen laughing uncontrollably for no good (or bad) reason.
Which is precisely what we must do to maintain any semblance of normality. Todd Wilson knows what homeschool moms and dads experience on a daily basis, and he's written The Official Book of Homeschooling Cartoons Volumes 1-4 to help them let off steam before they go off the deep end. A lot of the single-frame comics are variations on the insanity theme, in fact, a good indication that this is a prevalent state among home educators.
Wilson's art is simple, black and white, and genuinely funny. His captions are even funnier, a refreshing change from the usual run-of-the-mill art and boring text of many comic artists. These books will help you laugh at yourself, at the immensity of your task, at your kids, even at the fact that you find these books funny.
If you find yourself groaning more than rolling with laughter, get these books ASAP, because you're probably languishing from homeschool overload or (worse) are on the brink of burnout. It's okay to burn your husband's eggs, not as cool when you burn out on your God-given task of nurturing and instructing your children. Wilson's here to ensure that don't happen.
