Black Beauty is a book about a beautiful black horse who grows up in a peaceful field, but ends up living in many places with different owners of many different temperaments. I like this book because, even when Black Beauty has bad owners, he still tries to obey them because his mother taught him to. He is a great horse who is always obedient and kind, even in hard times. Because this story is told through Black Beauty's eyes, it helps you understand animals better and feel more compassionate towards them. Even though Black Beauty is a book for children, I think it is good for all ages. Emma--age 10
