Building Blocks Book 1 - Laboratory Workbook

The Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 1 Laboratory Notebook introduces kids to the excitement of doing hands-on, real science experiments. Each easy to perform experiment encourages students to use critical thinking skills and is organized around the scientific method, the process real scientists follow in doing experiments. Inexpensive common household items and foods are used for most of the experiments, and the setup time is minimal. The 22 experiments coincide with the 22 chapters of the Exploring the Building Blocks of Science Book 1 Student Textbook, and an additional activity is included after each experiment. Students will explore: how to do science, chemistry in everyday life, modeling molecules, identifying chemical reactions, comparing living and non-living things, discovering whether work has been done, converting gravitational stored energy to kinetic energy in a toy car, observing geological features in the local area, discovering why sedimentary rocks are layered, observing how lava flows, modeling Earth's interaction with the Sun, modeling the planets, and much more.
