The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. What happens when you take one very small boy, give him a red woolly hat, and then add, one by one, a mouse in a house of sky-blue, brown shoes with laces, some black rubber fireman's boots, some very nice skis, a Halloween mask, a cello, and one large elephant (none of which the boy will part with no matter what he's doing or where he's going)? You end up with a gaily whimsical picture book written in lilting verse by the renowned author/ illustrator Karla Kuskin.
Situations grow in delightful absurdity as each new object is added and the ridiculous progression of events is sure to tickle any young child's imagination. A book to be read aloud again and again.
