I've played this version a few times, but mostly the earlier (and very similar) world version and the Pacific and Europe 1940 versions.

This set gives you the most bang for your buck, being cheaper than the other Axis and Allies versions.

Axis & Allies is a well-designed strategy game that guys will love playing over and over again. I learned quite a bit of history and world geography from playing this game so many times. Even though it begins with a historically accurate distribution of military and economic power, the game is very well balanced, and when handled well, any of the five countries can gain the upper hand and turn the tide of the war.

This game can take anywhere from one to five hours to finish. The rules seem complicated at first, but after playing a few times, they are easy to remember.

I've been playing this with my brothers since I was 11 and I still enjoy it just as much 13 years later. Just enough history, strategy and luck to make a perfect guys' game.
My all time favorite.
