The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. As a result of a conversation with his friends at his London Club, Phileas Fogg makes a wager with them to travel around the world in eighty days in order to gain twenty thousand pounds. Should he fail, they would receive the money, and Mr. Fogg would face ruin.

The journey is made at very short notice and Phileas Fogg, the most correct of Englishmen, is accompanied by his French servant, Passepartout.

These two have a series of exciting adventures as they try to gain valuable time and meet with a series of seemingly unsurmountable obstacles. On the journey they are later accompanied by a beautiful Indian lady whom Phileas Fogg and Passepartout rescue from a terrible death, and by Mr. Fix, a detective who suspects Phileas Fogg of being a bank robber. Does Phileas Fogg succeed in making the journey in time? He is certainly brave and clever enough to try, and he makes many shrewd decisions, but...

Read this exciting book for yourself and see if, in the year 1872, Phileas Fogg did manage to go around the world in eighty days!
