Without Mama, life in the log house at the forest's edge was lonely for a young girl and her father. But the days were filled with chores, and Papa filled the nights with singing and candlelight reading. Then the rains came. The river rose to their front door and up into the house. Papa was swept away, and the little girl had to face the flood alone. She thought everything was lost, until help came from a most amazing source.
