Zilpha Keatley Snyder

Zilpha Keatley Snyder

Zilpha Keatley Snyder was born in California and has spent all but brief periods of her life there. She and her husband and three children now live in a house near Santa Rosa, California. She has, however, lived far closer to San Francisco in the past, and knows well the neighborhood in which this story (Witches of Worm) is set.

Mrs. Snyder taught school for a number of years before she retired to write books. Other books she has written include: Season of Ponies, The Velvet Room, Black and Blue Magic, The Egypt Game, Eyes in the Fishbowl, Today Is Saturday, The Changeling, and The Headless Cupid. Three of her books, The Egypt Game, The Headless Cupid, and The Witches of Worm have been Newbery Honor Books.
