The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

From the dust jacket:

During the last few years the Christian people of America have found a new way of putting their Christian love for others into action–sending heifers into some of the areas of the world where there are not enough cattle to meet the needs of the people. It has been a heart-warming experience to see this sharing going on and to have a part in it. We Raised a Heifer is a partly true, partly imaginary story of the experiences of the author's family in raising a heifer to be sent to Europe to a needy family. The six persons who are the main characters are the author, her husband, and their four children. The name Inasmuch, however, was "borrowed" from a heifer raised on a neighboring farm. It is not only the Heifer Project in which this family and their friends are interested. Many other types of relief work carried on by the Church of the Brethren and other Christian groups come in for attention and action. Reading this delightful story should remind each reader that there is still need for the loving help which Christians can give to those in need.
