Having received a B.A. from Wheaton College, a M.Div from the Philadelphia Seminary, and a D.Min from Westminster Theological Seminary, Mack continued his education by taking extensive graduate studies from a variety of schools. After marrying his wife Carol in 1957, Mack began pastoring at local churches, a profession he held for almost twenty years. Then he turned his attention to teaching biblical counseling courses at the college and graduate levels. This interest led him to help develop the undergraduate program in biblical counseling at The Master's College and oversee the creation of a master's program in this discipline. Mack has spoken at conferences, led seminars, served on the boards of several organizations, and worked as the director of Strengthening Ministries International. The author of many magazine articles and books, Mack also produced audio and video tapes. As of 2006, Mack and his wife moved to South Africa, and there they teach in a Ministry Training Center.
