Did you know that a growing percentage of home schoolers are becoming unschoolers? The unschooling movement is founded on the principle that children learn best when they pursue their own natural curiosities and interests. Without bells, schedules, and rules about what to do and when, the knowledge they gain through mindful living and exploration is absorbed more easily and enthusiastically. Learning is a natural, inborn impulse, and the world is rich with lessons to be learned and puzzles to be solved. Successful unschooling parents know how to stimulate and direct their children's learning impulse. Once you read this book, so will you!

  An Intro to Unschooling
Albanyaloe of South Africa, 6/10/2011
This book is a good introduction to unschooling, and has certainly helped allay anxieties I've had about unschooing. It's a relaxed read. Many positive things are mentioned about this life style. One thing I was a bit disappointed about, was that I did not find it a particularly Christian book, but perhaps I just assumed that it would be! I had hoped for a bit more information with regard to Christian unschooling. I'm still searching for a book like that. Also, the subtitle "How to use the whole world as your child's classroom" led me to believe it would offer more practical ideas for using everyday things around you for education. It does give some of this but I thought it would be the main focus.
