.A farmer and his wife own a gentle donkey. The donkey lives a quiet life under the lemon tree in the farmyard. Then one night a fox tries to steal the farmer's prize rooster. The donkey brays so loudly that she scares the fox away. The farmer wakes up. He sees no fox. He only hears a noisy donkey. He decides to punish the noisy donkey. The donkey is sad. If you've ever been punished for no good reason you will know how the donkey feels. But then the fox comes back, and at the satisfying end of this warm story the donkey shows the farmer why a loud voice can be a very good thing indeed.
