The image most of us have of the Ark is that of a relatively small boat with a little house in the middle and animals walking around on an outside deck. Though the picture is cute, is it what the ark really looked like? This book goes back to the account in Genesis and takes a closer look at what might actually happened at the time of the great global flood. The narrative is true to the biblical record and has added insight into what the world might have looked like before, during, and after the flood. Adults and children alike with be awed by the spectacular artwork that illustrates this carefully researched story. This is not just a fantastic reading book for the whole family, but also a coffee table witnessing book and a wonderful gift idea for non-Christians to challenge them concerning the truth of the Bible and the gospel.

Includes an audio CD and a pull-out spread.

A Different Look at An Old Story
Albanyaloe of South Africa, 7/14/2013
I purchased this book to accompany homeschool study of ancient history, from a Biblical viewpoint. The book is more suited to older children, for whilst the illustrations in the book will keep the younger ones interested, the language and content is rather advanced. The basic facts found in the Bible are largely elaborated on by the author's speculation, and I found I did have to explain this several times to my younger child. The older children understood- this was someone's viewpoint! Some useful and interesting things were the chart showing how long the 8 people were in the ark, plus the Hebrew meaning of ark and a more correct interpretation of ark visually and it's possible construction. These things enabled my children to understand more deeply the enormity of the ark. I would recommend that a child obtain a solid understanding of the story, directly from the Bible, before introducing this book. Please note that if you purchase an eBook version of this product it is slower than most digital products, I imagine due to the many beautiful pictures.
