This is the story of a little Quaker boy who has an unusual friend. Everywhere he goes this one seagull is always hopping along behind him. At first Obadiah resents his little feathered friend. Seagulls don't follow anyone else around. But when he frees the bird's beak from a tangled and rusty fishhook he accepts this funny bird's offer of friendship.
Although this is the most popular of the series, there are three more books about Obadiah: The Adventures of Obadiah (out of print), Rachel and Obadiah, and Obadiah the Bold.
