The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

"Tell me a story" is probably one of the oldest requests in the world and one which Tasha Tudor remembers from her own childhood and from her own children's voices. Every person and every family have their favorite stories, some old and some new. To an artist of Tasha Tudor's talents these favorites inspire a desire to paint the people, the places, and the animals.

In this collection of stories, the selections vary from fairy tales loved by generations to folk legends rich in the spirit of the past. Hans Christian Andersen, Rudyard Kipling, Eleanor Farjeon, and Mark Twain are but a few of the many authors represented. The ten stories which Miss Tudor has chosen from among her favorites are enhanced by full-color illustrations and black-and-white decorative drawings.

  1. THE CAT THAT WALKED BY HIMSELF by Rudyard Kipling
  2. A FALLING OUT by Kenneth Grahame
  3. RAGGYLUG: The Story of a Cottontail Rabbit by Ernest Thompson Seton
  4. WICKED JOHN AND THE DEVIL by Richard Chase
  5. THE GLORIOUS WHITEWASHER by Samuel L. Clemens
  7. THE BREMEN TOWN-MUSICIANS by The Brothers Grimm
  8. THE LITTLE DRESSMAKER by Eleanor Farjeon
  9. OUR FIELD by Juliana H. Ewing
  10. THE UGLY DUCKLING by Hans Christian Andersen
