Sonlight Core 200

Church history is the focus of Core 200, and uses The Story of Christianity as its foundational text. This book was particularly chosen because it was authored by a Catholic priest (Michael Collins) and a Protestant scholar (Matthew A. Price), ensuring that its narrative is balanced in content and approach. Other Christian books for this program include From Jerusalem to Irian JayaChurch of the East, and What If Jesus Had Never Been Born.

The literature focus for this year is classic fiction, from The Best of Father Brown, to Shakespeare, to Jane Eyre and the Screwtape Letters. The curriculum at this level is both extensive and challenging, and as kids look at the history of the Church, study their Bibles, and read more widely than ever before, their thinking will be shaped and molded the entire way to help them use reason and knowledge to robustly defend their faith in the face of all opposition.

Please Note: Sonlight Curriculum does not sell their materials to Exodus Books. We carry many of the same titles, and are often able to obtain used copies of books they publish. The following is culled from their 2013 website and includes much of their selection, though it is not comprehensive, nor is it in any sort of curricular order. For a complete listing, visit the Sonlight Curriculum website.
