Sesyle Joslin

Born on August 30, 1929, Joslin later went to college, four colleges. She moved from one school to another before marrying writer Al Hine. Embracing a writing career herself, Joslin worked as an editor, free-lance writer, and production assistant on the Lord of the Flies film. Some of her books include the Baby Elephant series illustrated by Leonard Weisgard, as well as What Do You Do, Dear? and What Do You Say, Dear?, which won the 1959 Caldecott Honor Book award for the illustrations by Maurice Sendak.
