Roger Nicole

Born in 1915 in Switzerland, Nicole was a Reformed theologian and an esteemed expert on John Calvin. Highly respected the world over for his wisdom and grasp on scholarly Biblical matters, Nicole wrote over 100 articles and was a contributor to over fifty books. He helped to edit the English Standard Version of the Reformation Study Bible, formerly called the New Geneva Study Bible, and helped translate the New International Version Bible. Nicole taught at Gordon Conwell Seminary and was a visiting professor of Theology at Reformed Theological Seminary in Florida. Formerly the past president and a founding member of the Evangelical Theological Society, Nicole also served as a founding member of the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy. When not writing or teaching, Nicole was an avid stamp collector with more than one million stamps.

Roger Nicole passed away at age 95 on December 11th, 2010.
