The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent shape, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

To the famous list of canine heroes created by the author of Lad must be added Stirling, the wonderful golden collie and last of his line. He belonged to the laird of Mac Beath who dwelt with his lovely niece Kathleen and his celebrated dog in an old ruin of a castle in the Scottish highlands.

When the fame of Sterling reaches the ears of a millionaire dog fancier in Amer- ica, young Garth, his secretary is dispatched to Scotland to secure the dog at any price. The story of Garth's quest of the famous animal, his battle of wits with the unscrupulous laird who tries to pawn off a poor substitute for the great collie, his triumph over a rival American who is in league with the laird, and his final victory in which he is aided by Kathleen and by Stirling himself, is one that every Albert Payson Terhune enthusiast will long remember.
