Robert W. Watson

While head of the English Department at a Christian school, Bob developed an English curriculum that emphasized critical writing and studying classical literature. The Smarr English courses are essentually a refinement of those used in his classroom.

Bob received his B.A. and M.Ed at Bob Jones University, Greenville SC and his J.D. at the Walter F. George School of Law, Mercer University, Macon GA. Bob has been an adjunct professor of composition and literature at Middle Georgia College. As an author, Bob has written Critique of Pure Education: A Philosophy for the Home Educator, A Research Project in Ten Lessons, Moping Melancholy Mad: An Introduction to Poetry, and The Epic of Gilgamesh: A Poetic Version. In addition to his writing, Bob is a popular lecturer, who has spoken frequently to various chapters of the League of the South, several local historical societies, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, and several home school conventions.

Currently, one day a week, Bob tutors homeschool students at the Veritas Classical School in Macon, Georgia, where he instructs students in literature, composition, and Latin.
