Married to wife Elizabeth in 1977, Ridlon then earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University. A member of the U.S. Air Force, Ridlon attained the rank of major. During his military career, he also received a master's degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology. Later he taught information systems theory and systems design and analysis since 1991 at Belleville Area College and became on ordained Southern Baptist deacon at the First Baptist Church of O'Fallon, Illinois. Leaving the military Ridlon now works as an information systems development consultant. He has authored chemistry and physics textbooks, and with Elizabeth he has penned books on creation. Ridlon contributes to professional and scientific journals and speaks with his wife at conferences on the subject of creation.
