When the miller's youngest son receives Puss as his inheritance, he says sadly, "how can I ever make a living with just this cat?"
But Puss is no ordindary cat. By outwitting an evil giant and gaining a fortune for a poor young man, the resourceful Puss in Boots proves himself the Master Cat of them all.
Though Fred Marcellino's lavish illustrations are more beautiful than these, Paul Galdone's lively pencil & watercolor drawings have a comical and elegant charm of their own. Though the text between the two versions is very similar, we believe many younger children may actually prefer this one.
