At one point, this was THE premium re-publisher of the G. A. Henty books. They "rediscovered" and published over forty of Henty's books, edited and re-typeset for easier reading, in beautiful cloth binding, handsome trade paper editions (both of these color coded for historical period), and a few "featherweight" mass-market versions (we didn't much like these). They also published 2-3 titles from other authors, like John Smith, Gentleman Adventurer by C.H. Forbes-Lindsey and The List by C.D. Baker, and they crafted and published a few issues of the educational magazine The Captain.
We had the pleasure of taking a walking tour with owner Doug Schmidt in old Philadelphia a few years before he passed away (we never learned when and why), and we were thrilled to be a distributor for his books. Unfortunately, the books are now out-of-print and increasingly hard to find. Robinson Books has assumed the position as main publisher of G. A. Henty.
