Percent is part of the Straight Forward Math Series. Before beginning these percent skills, please make sure that certain pre-learned skills with fractions and decimals are firm. To this end, a simple Basic Skills Test for fractions and decimals is placed before the formal introduction of percent. Otherwise, this book is organized to methodically introduce percent concepts and skills. Concepts and skills are explained, modeled, and practiced. Periodic Review and Testing serve to measure skills taught.
Two other measurement tools–in addition to review and testing–are provided. A Percent Pre-Test will survey beginning percent skill levels. A Percent Post Test will measure how well all percent skills presented in the book have been mastered.
Exercises which accompany skill sections can be completed in the book or on separate paper. Answers to exercises and all testing are also provided.
