From the substantial quantity of unpublished work of Margaret Wise Brown, four stories are included in this volume. In addition to the title story there are A Remarkable Rabbit, Quiet in the Wilderness and The Gentle Tiger. Ann Strugnell has treated each as an individual picture book, capturing in delicate pencil work and in full color the furry, scaley, feathery and sleek textures of the animals, as well as their earnest, gentle and clownish dispositions.
Together the four books form a rich legacy from the writer who "made picture book writing an art."
