The books in this section are usually hardcover and in decent condition, though we'll sometimes offer hard-to-find books in lesser condition at a reduced price. Though we often put images of the book with their original dust jackets, the copies here won't always (or even often) have them. If that is important to you, please call ahead or say so in the order comments!

Okolo wanted to become a teacher, but he knew that in his country, where education was badly needed, it was very costly. Soon he would be finished with primary school, secondary school would cost $250 a year, and his family was very poor. He worked hard at any job he could get, as did his mother and father, but there still wasn't enough money. His uncle had made big promises, but didn't keep them. He finally went to the Obi (the Chief) and told him his story. The Obi said, "You're beginning your life in a new country–a free country, Okolo. You are lucky. Go and help to build." Okolo was puzzled but patient and finally learned the meaning of the words. By working hard, his dream came true.
