Louis is in for a wild year when his uncle gives him a mysterious tadpole he found in Scotland. The tadpole, who Louis names Alphonse, turns out to be anything but a tadpole. He keeps getting bigger and bigger, soon outgrowing the sink and then the bathtub. Secretly using the school pool isn’t going to last long either, as the school year is going to start soon. With the help of librarian Ms. Seevers and a treasure map, can Louis raise enough money to build a pool for Alphonse?
With fun, playful illustrations and text by Steven Kellogg, this new edition of the rollicking tale is irresistibly charming and sure to be a favorite with everyone.
